Internet Trends
In business, the key is to know the upcoming trends of the future. That is one single success factor that will determine the success of any business. And moreso with the Internet. I mean, look at people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and you get the drift.Hard work is important but working smart and with vision is what cuts it. We are looking at visionaries who knew what they were looking at. Which is why rubbing shoulders with the right company and keeping up-todate with the latest happenings in the world is a good thing for your Internet business.Checkout this site for the latest trends on the Net: Internet TrendsThe following three diagrams show an analysis of different aspects on the Internet. Let's run through it one-by-one
The first one - US Internet Revenue by Category. Right at the top of the list is Keyword Search. Obviously the trend now is for people to search for stuff on the net via key words. And advertising your product using the right keyword is gonna have a positive impact on your sales. Furthermore, the fact that you have to bid a higher price for certain keywords on Google Adwords just shows how important keywords are.Secondly - Search Marketing Spend in the States is growing from USD1.9billion in 2003 to USD5.6billion in 2008. What this actually means is that companies are gonna spend more money on Google Adwords and that income streams from having advertisements on your blog/domain would be stronger. And that it pays to develop this income stream for yourself in the long run. Look at it this way, coffee at Starbucks also costs money. Why not think of it like having your readers treat you to a few cups of coffee. In time, who knows if the money can be substantial. Especially after years of working, living, suffering and the pain of life, you actually have lots of stories to share that will benefit other people and hell, maybe amuse them.Thirdly - Consumers in the States are searching for products online and 42% of it is through Search Engines and only 23% is from the Store's url. What does this mean? It simply means that you can be a small business owner. Tiny compared to the likes of WalMart, Tesco, Carrefour or some other hypermarket. But the fact is you can reach a worldwide market because of the fact that consumers are searching for products online. You actually could build a niche business online and sell to a certain group of customers - checkout this artist's small business which consist of his collection of arty-farty stuff (John T Unger’s Studio). Stuff that probably wouldn't make it on the mass market but he makes a good living selling to a niche market. And man, his stuff really rocks. Check out the barbeque spit - Great Bowls of Fire! Made of discarded oil barrels. They are perfect and the coolest looking barbeque spits I have ever seen.
